Hand dyed (shibori) cottons in indigo, pieced and quilted by hand and machine.

New Englanders always say "wait a minute and the weather will change." Indigo patterns in shibori create a wealth of patterns that facilitate the tricky part of creating clouds that seem simultaneously ephemeral and yet of substance.
Indigo dyeing is a meditative process that lets me focus on the essentials of shibori. The landscape usually beomes less specific & more abstract. Here the subject is the drama that occurs in the sky at the shore.
