Hand dyed (shibori) cottons in indigo, four whole cloth blocks sewn together, hand quilted & embroidered with sashiko thread.

The edge where land meets the sea is endlessly fascinating, especially to someone like me, who was raised in the landlocked Midwest.

Stitches in white fabric are gathered tightand then removed after dyeing to create the images of critters who live in the sea.  Almost whole cloth, the quilt is made of only four blocks.
