Hand dyed shibori cottons in indigo, hand quilted and framed.
Blue mussels are the perfect subject for indigo dyeing. This is a small framed whole cloth quilt. The water patterns are created by tightly gathering up stitched lines in the fabric. The white shells are "capped off" to resist the dye. Shibori and indigo were made for each other.
