A Fuller Craft Museum exhibit asking for fiber art with text urged me to to create a more direct statement

thanmy usual lyrical landscapes. Inspired by maps, the visual beauty of the two poles is obvious, as are the

dyed words “melting” and “warming,” especially given recent reports on climate change. Using boro, an

age-old Japanese tradition of patching and mending with energetic hand stitching, is particularly appropriate,
